Going, going…..

Gone, just like that 17 days after my first chemo my hair is gone!

To be honest it was a little bit confronting arriving in Riversdale on Friday night to clumps of hair falling out (pretty happy it wasn’t still shoulder length long at this point).

Although it was probably always going to happen, I did secretly hope that I might have been one of those people that didn’t lose all their hair and I’d be rocking my little pixie cut the whole way through chemo……urrggghhh wrong. It was quite emotional and painful, like I was sleeping on one of those shatki mats or a bed of nails, all night. Saturday I was tired, sourced some clippers off a friends Dad and Sam gave me a number 2, Sunday a number 1 and the last of it fell out today! It’s growing (or not in this case) on me and just rolling with it, staying positive and reminding myself it’s not that I’m more sick just another hurdle to get through the other side!

I have chemo this Friday 10.30am, my oncologist said my bloods were all fine even when I was feeling my worse which is a good sign! She’s also tweaked the poison they put into me so hopefully my first night won’t be quite as bad as the last, I’ll just lose the really crap side effects and be extra sleepy instead - totally fine by me!

See ya later Gary, you’ll be well on your way this time round, oh and thanks for shrinking, now I don’t have to wear my Nana bras anymore 😆
